ABOUT ME

I’m passionate about the great outdoors, woodlands and the glorious countryside. From my early school years, I was intrigued and fascinated by walls, I was curious how they were constructed and I used to go home thinking and dreaming about how they were built, then seeking permission from my parents to reconstruct our garden wall and recreate the foundations that I’d visualised from my travels in the great outdoors.

I was introduced to a local farmer who asked me to build a few meters of wall in Ashover he was impressed with the quality of my work and encouraged me to pursue this as a career, but it wasn’t until a friend of mine suggested that I get in touch with The Prince's Trust who may be able to provide assistance.

Away from the countryside, I’m kept grounded by my four children Layla, Thomas, Ryan and Aj. I also enjoy spending time in my local woods river walking with my dog.

February 2017, my passion came to fruition when The Princes Trust agreed to support my dreams, I have subsequently become a highly trained Lantra Awards Level 2 Certificate in Dry Stone Walling, Prince’s Trust Level 2 in Exploring Enterprise, HABC Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace, Aim Awards Level 2 in Safe Moving and Handling (QCF) and HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) and continue to develop my craftsmanship by attending events and enter walling competitions.

I get a buzz, feel proud and a sense of achievement every time when laying those initial foundations and positioning that first lift through to erecting the coping stones which holds the wall together.

I get a sense of accomplishment when completing a job and the feedback from the client makes me feel honoured. I’m a perfectionist and leave no stone unturned. Attention to detail is paramount whether undertaking routine garden maintenance or restoring a wall.
